The continuity tester allows you to test & confirm the effectiveness of your grounding product. There's no need to purchase this with your initial grounding product (unless you'd like to see the science in action!), and NorthStar products are designed with the highest silver thread content to ensure long-lasting effectiveness, but if you've accidentally put your product in the dryer with heat or want to confirm effectiveness after 6-12 months of use, it can be a great tool.
